Quickly Identify and Resolve Surface Contact Stress Problems
Fuji Prescale® is a pressure indicating sensor film used to characterize pressure between contacting or impacting surfaces by changes color to reveal both pressure distribution and pressure magnitude.
Prescale is well suited for surface pressure mapping applications for pressure between 2 PSI all the way up 43,000 PSI. across a series of 8 distinct pressure range films.
The color change of the pressure indicting sensor film is both instantaneous and permanent.
Simply place the sensor film sheet between any two contacting or impacting surfaces, apply force, remove the film sheet, and immediately it reveals a pressure profile of interfacial pressure distribution.
Similar in concept to Litmus paper, the film’s color change is also directly related to pressure level – the color intensity of the film precisely reveals PSI level.
Pressure sensor film is thin (4 to 8 mils) and flexible allowing it to conform to curved surfaces and tight spaces.

“We could not have accomplished our test program without your help!”
• NASA
“The analysis was Great! It helped give us a better view of the variation between the samples and certainly had more detail than we could extract from the basic color scale ourselves. I expect that we will utilize this analysis as we continue with development.”
